If you like Andy Warhol and the "pop" art movement, you'll love this book. If you aren't able to see the exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, this book will fulfill your desire to see what's being exhibited. I bought the hardcover version from Amazon even though I am a member of the MET and entitled to a discounted price. Amazon's price is better! You'll love Andy Warhol's silk screen portraits. IMO, this is where he excels. His Campbell Soup can paintings are executed well but rise only to the level of 'novelty' work. The portraits are strong, grasping the viewer's eye and attention. It's hard to let go or turn away. The use of contrasting light brings out the depth in the portraits of Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Jacqueline Kennedy, and Warhol himself. I recommend this book for art lovers who want to build their book collection as completely as possible while wanting to have reference to the art movements of the twentieth century!
